Spring and beauty give us wings and marvelous mood. Still, the main sense of the March 8 is different. This is the International Rights’ of Women Day, which is the symbol of peace!
Thanks to our warrior women and men we now can greet spring and believe in Victory!
This is why “Ukrainian Women’s Battalion” invites you to take part in the “March 8 at the frontline” initiative and support our warrior women! A post with details on Instagram – “March 8 at the frontline”.
(Not) a holiday of spring and beauty.
Ukrainian women go up onto the frontline, stand in battles together with men nearing our victory. Their resolve and bravery truly amaze!
Today we would like to tell you about the participants of “March 8 at the frontline” initiative, who’ll share their stories, why have they gone to war and what motivates them.
Alina
“Righteous rage, pain and love are three heart-moving forces which make me each day fight for freedom of my close people.
What has motivated me to enter the Ukrainian Armed Forces?
My greatest motivators are my brother, which became captive when defending Mariupol, and my family too.
I am here, so that my family could live in the independent country. I am here, so that my brother during exchange procedures could hear the long-wished “You are in Ukraine” phrase. I am standing here for his cause and I have no right to watch all this passively”.
Olena
“After the Serebryanskyi forest I dream to mine-clear Syvash to enter Crimea”.
Before the war, Olena worked in the forest branch, in the Eastern Forest office. So, she knows very well that forests are lungs of the planet. In order for the foresters to renew them, the according territories have to be mine-cleared.
“At first they will mine-clear cities, towns, villages, power lines, the infrastructure. Next, they will hasten to mine-clear agricultural fields for this is the provision issue. What about forests? Their turn, sadly, shall be forlorn.
And one more problem is the lack of sappers. This is why I decided to join the army”.
Iryna
“I understood that I really want to help in some way and be useful in this hard battle against the occupant. I decided to return from abroad and join ZSU ranks…”
When the full-scale invasion broke out Iryna with kids went abroad, to Spain. But her heart stayed at home. And each day it more and more filled with rage against russian invaders…
“When I came home my family didn’t support me much, for I have small kids. My husband was completely against it. But I did not listen! After some time I filled up divorce papers, and two month after that we were divorced, and then I went to the regional recruitment office to sign my contract!
That is how my story began, and I have never regretted my decision, for I’ve done it for the sake of my children, so that they may never take weapons into their hands and could live in the peaceful and safe country!” – tells Iryna.
Alyona
“I have a dream that my children would never know what war is.
My motivation each day – is safety of my family and loved ones. So, I do all that is possible, in order to make our victory all the nearer!
At the beginning, I was a usual sniper and aide-de-camp and had no clue what the army is. And now I am a senior war medic of the subdivision and I show my experience to others”.
Ukrainian women-defenders together with men are battling for our victory!
March 8 is no longer a holiday of spring and beauty.
