In this post, we want to share with you the recommendations of a psychologist on how to provide yourself with primary psychological support independently.

How to deal with fear?
Advice from a psychologist at UWB.

Fear is a state of anxiety caused by the threat of real or anticipated harm.

How can you help yourself deal with this?

The psychologist advises:

1. Go to a place where you feel “imaginary” safety.
2. Place your hand on your wrist to feel your pulse, you can start counting beats. (If someone is nearby, ask them to place their hand on your wrist).
3. Breathe deeply and evenly.
4. Drink warm water.
5. If you feel like talking, expressing yourself – speak up, if you have the opportunity to scream – scream.
6. Take an object in your hand and squeeze it, initially intensely, then slower over time.
