On the Maidan, we stood up to the arbitrariness of the pro-russian government, we won our right to Ukraine’s European course, we chose a future without russia. Neither the occupation of Crimea and Donbas nor a full-scale invasion will diminish our longing for freedom and our faith in Victory. 

We will return all Ukrainian lands and defeat the enemy, because Ukrainians have already proved that freedom and dignity are the most important things to us!

DENYS ANTIPOV

During the Revolution of Dignity, Denys and his friends demolished a monument to the communist soviet criminal Dmytro Manuilskyi in the government block in Kyiv in February 2014. 

In 2015-2016, he served in the Anti-Terrorist Operation, and returned to the Armed Forces with the beginning of the full-scale invasion. 

He died on 11 May 2022 near the village of Dovhenke in the Kharkiv region.

DMYTRO HUBAREV

Dmytro was a student at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv when the Revolution of Dignity began. 

Before the start of the full-scale invasion, he enlisted as a volunteer in a separate special forces unit of the Azov National Guard of the National Guard of Ukraine.

He died in April 2022, during the defence of Mariupol, at the Azovstal plant.

DENYS KOSENKO

During the Maidan, he delivered food and medicine from Dnipro to Kyiv and helped build barricades. 

When the occupation of Donbas began, he became a volunteer, then served in the ATO in 2015-2016. On 24 February 2022, he returned to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and died in April of the same year in a battle near Novobakhmutivka, Donetsk region.

DANYLO MELNYK

Together with his family, he was an active supporter of Euromaidan. 

In the spring of 2014, he joined the Donbass volunteer battalion and fought in Ilovaisk and other hotspots. After the start of the full-scale invasion, Danylo returned to the army. He took part in battles in the Kyiv region and then in the Kharkiv region. 

He died in May 2023 near Bakhmut.

ROMAN RATUSHNYI

Public figure, journalist. He is known for his fight to preserve the Protasiv Yar tract in Kyiv. 

He became a participant in Euromaidan at the age of 15, and together with other students was attacked by Berkut on the night of 30 November. 

In February 2022, he enlisted as a volunteer in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was killed in action near Izium in June of that year.

There are countless stories like this. 

From Maidan to the present day, the price of our freedom is someone’s life. 

Let remember these sacrifices and be worthy of them.
